Hot Fun Summer Run
08/13/10 - 08/15/10

Welcome to another edition of
The World According to Sunshine.

I started my Ride-About from my new digs on the border of Dallas and Richardson headed to New Summerfield, Texas for the 24th annual Hot Fun Summer Run put on by the Tyler Longriders MC.
Cappy

Start off with a good breakfast
Campbell Road near Coit

The route I took to New Summerfield

On the way I stopping at the pipe spring on 175 east of Cuney

Cooling my bandana to put around my neck.

The friendly crew at the registration desk

The man who donates his property for the rally lives in this house.

Great food, old skool bikes and folks having fun
The CMA folks set up a booth devoted to keeping the kids occupied

Hanging out around the beer garden

After setting up camp I took a little ride on outstanding roads

The area is saturated with greenhouse industry

Entering the rally area; Friday the 13th

Friday night was about getting a good spot to listen to the band

And of course people watch

My favorite beertender. Kept serving me premium beer out of the lite tap

One of my favorite Longriders: Kanga

Two'fer

The next morning I headed towards Nacogdoches

Well what do you know ... I found more great roads.

Nacogdoches

Wow is right. I would not mind living in that little house on the prairie.

Heck with six flags, these folks claim nine flags.

I enjoyed this meal a great deal; no need to add seasoning to the gravy.

A historic Stone Fort located on the Stephen F. Austin campus
A rebuilt replica built on a new site of
Don Antonio Gil Y'Barbow stone house. Y'Barbo, the founder of present day
Nacogdoches, built the stone house between 1788 and 1791 as the formal portals
to the Spanish District of Texas.

The Ride Back

Saturday Late Afternoon

Air Conditioning on Saturday night
The guys on the second floor thought we were someone famous

The Ride Home

I always seem to run into interesting cars on these little Ride-Abouts.
And of course the buzz killer, the Metro-Mess.
The guy in front of me missed my front tire about 6" as he cut in front of me.

Thanks for looking this far down the page!
